The Demon Helmet Quest

The Edron Hero Cave’s demon room: get Key 6010 from the Parchment Room Quest, open the Gate of the Lost Souls with two helpers, and clear a room of 4 Demons and many Banshees for the Demon Helmet, Demon Shield and Steel Boots. It also unlocks the Demon outfit’s shield addon.

The wiki recommends a large team with strong blockers and shooters. Even a solo attempt needs **two other players** to stand on the switches that open the Gate of the Lost Souls.

Before you start

The gotchas and shortcuts that save the most time — worth two minutes before you set off.

  • The Parchment Room Quest is a separate, 10-minute quest. It ends in a coffin room with 4 Demons that wake when you take the parchment. You can grab the reward and run rather than fight.2
  • Count on at least 9 Demons in total: 5 on the way in, 4 in the quest room, and possibly a respawn on the way back. A lot of Banshees come with them.1
  • Pull the exit switch first. The quest room has a switch on the east side that activates the exit portal. The wiki recommends pulling it before you kill anything, in case someone needs to escape.1
  • Fire Elementals must be dead before you head down the passage to the portal. There is a lot of fire on the way, which the wiki says is fine for level 100+.1
  • On the way out, be careful of Demons that may have respawned.1
  • The same cave holds the Annihilator Quest. The two quests together lead to the Demon outfit (base from the Annihilator, shield addon from this quest).3

Part 1: Key 6010 (the Parchment Room Quest)

You need a pick and a rope. Expect Demons, Heroes, Priestesses, Monks, Demon Skeletons, Dragons and Bonelords on the way.

  1. 1Enter the Edron Hero Cave and follow the wiki’s route picture to the right spot. Use a pick to open a hole there and go down.2
  2. 2Head west. You find a single gravestone and a teleporter to a big room with one Demon, the Parchment Room. The gravestone reads “Death to those who disturb the slumber of Father”, with some letters missing.2
  3. 3Kill the Demon, then go to the coffin in the middle of the room. When you push the Yellow Parchment (Buried Forever), 4 Demons spawn around you.2
  4. 4Either kill them or open the coffin and run. It holds a Brown Bag with Key 6010, a Bone, a Stealth Ring, 2 Talons and a Skull.2

Part 2: Getting to the Gate of the Lost Souls

  1. 1Enter the Edron Hero Cave and head down to the level 100 Gate of Expertise near the single Demon spawn.1
  2. 2Use Key 6010 on the door after the gate.1
  3. 3Two players must stand on the two switches to open the Gate of the Lost Souls.1
  4. 4Kill all the Fire Elementals, then follow the only passage down to a portal.1

Part 3: To the quest room

  1. 1Go through the portal. One Demon waits. Kill it and go through the hole. It drops you two floors to the cave with the portal into the quest room.1
  2. 2This cave has 4 Demons and a couple of Fire Elementals, but not all at once: 2 Demons where you arrive, and one in each room to the east.1
  3. 3Head east and clear everything. A portal at the end takes you to the quest room.1

Part 4: The quest room

  1. 1The portal puts you in a room right below with 4 Demons and a lot of Banshees. Pull the exit switch on the east side first.1
  2. 2Kill everything. The reward chests are on the west side of the room.1
  3. 3Leave through the exit portal. Be ready for respawned Demons on the way back.1

Part 5: The Demon outfit shield addon

  1. 1After the quest, talk to Avar Tar in Edron. Say `hi`, `outfits`, `yes`, then `shield`.3
  2. 2The helmet addon is separate and needs the Demon Oak and all 6,666 Demons killed, according to Avar Tar.3
