The Djinn War Quest
Choose a side in Ankrahmun’s djinn war — the green Efreet or the blue Marid — and finish three missions for it. Each faction opens its own traders and a djinn hunting task. The choice cannot be undone, so read the section on which to pick before you speak to anyone.

What this unlocks
- Your faction’s traders: Efreet side — Yaman and Alesar; Marid side — Haroun and Nah’Bob.12
- A djinn hunting task: Efreet side can start a blue djinn task by saying `task` to Malor, and Marid side a green djinn task by saying `task` to Gabel.12
- The ability to hunt the opposite faction’s djinns in Ankrahmun and Yalahar.12
Requirements at a glance
- Level
- 40Premium
40 is the gate. A TibiaQA answer suggests about 50 for a knight or paladin and 60 for a sorcerer or druid if you want to do it solo and comfortably; a lower-level character can manage with Avalanche or Great Fireball runes and good skills.
- Team
- Can be done solo
It can be done solo, but the last mission climbs a tower of Marids and djinns and goes much faster with a blocker and a shooter.
- Quests
- No quest is required. If you want To Appease the Mighty Quest (20 platinum coins), do it before you start either faction quest, because it cannot be done once you have started or finished one.3
- Bring
- Efreet side: nothing special. A few Poison Bomb or Great Fireball runes make the Orc King’s room much easier.1
- Marid side: a Cheese (to talk to the rat Rata’mari) and a Cookbook, which you buy from Maryza in Kazordoon for 150 gp — one per player.2
- A Dwarven Ring, for the tower climb. Both wiki pages recommend one.12
Before you start
The gotchas and shortcuts that save the most time — worth two minutes before you set off.
- You can only side with one faction, and there is no way back. Melchior warns you in the first conversation. If you want both sets of traders you need two characters.12
- You can still kill your own faction’s djinns in many spawns. The quest decides which doors and NPCs you can use, not who you may attack, but you lose access to some spawns, for example the Yalahar djinns of your own colour.5
- In the fortresses, greet with `DJANNI’HAH` instead of `hi` the first time you speak to the faction’s djinns. The Efreet wiki warns that forgetting it can get you soulfired for around 1,500 damage over 12.5 minutes. After you have been accepted (Ubaid or Umar), `hi` works too.12
- The two quests are similar in difficulty, per a TibiaQA answer, so choose by the traders you want to use.4
Part 1: Melchior and the word of greeting (both factions)
- 1Find Melchior, a man who wanders the streets of Ankrahmun. Say `hi`, then `word of greeting`. He tells you the word is `DJANNI’HAH`. He also warns that the choice of faction is permanent.12
- 2Optional first: To Appease the Mighty (Kazzan in Darashia). He sends you to offer a peace treaty to both djinn fortresses. It pays 20 platinum coins and cannot be done after you start either war quest.3
Part 2: The Efreet (green) path
The green fortress is Mal’ouquah. You steal for them from the Marids and trick the Marid king’s bedchamber.
- 1To reach Mal’ouquah, take the ramp west of the oasis in Ankrahmun and follow the path west to the level 30 Doors of Expertise.1
- 2Greet Ubaid with `DJANNI’HAH`. Say `passage`. When he tells you to leave, say `no`. Then `yes` to joining their fight, and `yes` again to pledge loyalty to Malor. He sends you to Baa’leal.1
- 3Mission 1 — the supply thief. Ask Baa’leal for a `mission` and say `yes`. Go to the prison in Thais (the cells under the city) and find the prisoner Partos. Say `hi`, `ankrahmun`, `supplies`.1
- 4Return to Baa’leal. Say `mission`, `yes`, and tell him the thief’s name: `Partos`. He pays 600 gp and sends you to Alesar.1
- 5Mission 2 — the Tear of Daraman. Ask Alesar for a `mission` and say `yes`. He wants you to steal a Tear from the Marids in Ashta’daramai.1
- 6Take the ramp between Ankrahmun and Darashia. Instead of going north to Darashia, follow the passage west and take the hidden ramp south. Stone Golems wait below; continue south to the secret entrance of the Blue Djinn Fortress.1
- 7Climb the stairs to the fourth floor, one floor above the Fire Elementals. The third floor can hold up to 5 Blue Djinns, a Marid, 4 Fire Elementals and 2 Scarabs right at the stairs, so bring a blocker and a shooter.1
- 8Look for two fountains on the east side. Use the northern one. The water ripples and a Tear of Daraman appears at your feet. Take it back to Alesar (`mission`, `yes`). He sends you to Malor upstairs.1
- 9Mission 3 — the orc fortress. Ask Malor for a `mission`. He wants Fa’hradin’s lamp from the Orc King in Ulderek’s Rock.1
- 10In Ulderek’s Rock, greeting the Orc King summons a crowd of orcs. Place a poison bomb on yourself first, then say `hi` twice, `lamp`, and tell him it is for `Malor`. He gives you the lamp.12
- 11Go back to the secret entrance of the Blue Djinn Fortress and climb all the way to the top. Many Blue Djinns, Marids, Scarabs and Fire Elementals wait. Bring a Dwarven Ring. A level 70+ knight can clear up to the top floor but will struggle with the bedchamber, where three Marids and their spawn wait.1
- 12In Gabel’s bedchamber, use the gemmed lamp on his counter while carrying Fa’hradin’s lamp. Return to Malor, say `mission` and `yes`. You can now trade with Yaman and Alesar.1
Part 3: The Marid (blue) path
The blue fortress is Ashta’daramai. Here you fetch a cookbook, spy on the Efreet and swap the lamp in Malor’s bedchamber.
- 1The Blue Djinn Fortress is north of Ankrahmun: take the ramp west of the Giant Spider hill, go north-west and pass the level 30 Door of Expertise.2
- 2Greet Umar with `DJANNI’HAH` and ask for `passage`.2
- 3Mission 1 — the cookbook. Go up to Bo’ques and ask for a `mission`. He wants a Cookbook from Maryza, who runs the tavern near the depot in Kazordoon. She sells one per player for 150 gp. Bring it back to Bo’ques. He gives you 3 Small Sapphires.2
- 4Mission 2 — the spy report. Talk to Fa’hradin on the balcony of the same floor. He gives you the password `PIEDPIPER`. You cannot enter the back door of the Green Djinn Tower until you have this mission.2
- 5Take the Cheese with you. Go up the ramp west of the oasis, but instead of going to the front door, follow the path north around the fortress to the back door. On the way you meet Lions, Hyaenas, Cobras, Scorpions and a Wyvern.2
- 6Inside, kill the Hyaenas and the Green Djinn, then go down the steps. Kill the 3 Green Djinns and talk to the rat Rata’mari. Say `PIEDPIPER` instead of `hi`. Ask for the `Spy Report` and say `yes` to give him the cheese.2
- 7Take the Spy Report back to Fa’hradin. Then speak to Gabel upstairs.2
- 8Mission 3 — the lamp. Ask Gabel for a `mission`. He wants a Gemmed Lamp from the Orc King in Ulderek’s Rock. The Orc King’s chamber needs level 40.2
- 9The safest method: throw a Poison Bomb under the Orc King, greet him twice, ask for the `lamp`, and say it is for `Malor`. Grab the lamp and run.2
- 10Take the lamp into the Green Djinn Fortress through the secret entrance and climb to the top floor. Green Djinns, Efreets and Gargoyles wait. Bring Dwarven Rings and strong shooters and blockers. The wiki says stair-hopping no longer works.2
- 11In Malor’s bedchamber, stand in front of the lamp on the counter next to his bed and use your lamp once. Check your Quest Log: the third mission should say you “successfully changed” it. Return to Gabel and say `mission`. You can now trade with Haroun and Nah’Bob.2
Rewards
- Efreet side: 600 gp, a Gemmed Lamp, and permission to trade with Yaman and Alesar.1
- Marid side: 3 Small Sapphires, a Gemmed Lamp, and permission to trade with Haroun and Nah’Bob.2
- A djinn hunting task from Malor (blue djinns) or Gabel (green djinns), and the ability to hunt the opposite faction in Ankrahmun and Yalahar.12
